ERIC PITTS COUNSELING
Therapy Matters - Meaningful Mental Health
According to science, bad stuff happens to men too. We just suck at talking about it.
60% of men will experience a traumatic event in their life, but unlike women, only 36% will receive treatment. Life is a hell of a thing but as men the expectation is to just deal with it.
Life's struggles go unshared while you still grieve your past and beat yourself up for spending so much time in your head. When you are not stressed, you feel alone, bored, and yet scared to do anything different. Even when we don’t have the words for what we are going through, how we interpret our life makes a big difference. When we don’t talk about what is going on inside us it can negatively impact the people we care about. What you think and how you feel matters. Your life’s story deserves to be told. It also needs to be heard and accepted as it makes sense to you, especially if it does not make sense to you. Therapy is a place for that.

Therapy is a place where people come to talk about the stuff they can’t share with others: about things we do not want to even acknowledge with ourselves. It is a place to attempt change without the pressure to get it right the first time, or 3rd time, or 10th time. The process can be uncomfortable and requires patience, but having a therapist means you don’t have to go it alone. You matter, your story matters, and therapy matters.

I want my clients to make informed decisions about all aspects of their lives and that includes which therapist they choose. For this reason, I offer a free 20 minute consultation. Life can feel like a lot sometimes. Let's talk about it.
